Corset Story Size Guide

New to the Corsets? Confused about Sizing?.....We are here to help!

We have developed a new ‘Perfect fit’ tool – we strongly recommend using the ‘Perfect Fit’ tool on each and every product page to ensure you choose your ‘Perfect fit’!

If you are new to corsets, sizing your corset can be quite confusing. We get lots of questions in Customer Service about which size to choose, which style may be suitable for your shape and which measurements are required.

Our team are here to help every step of your Corset Story journey. Lets first talk about measuring.

The majority of the tension in a corset will be running through the waist, this makes the waist an extremely important measurement when sizing a corset. Traditional corsets are fully adjustable across the bust, waist & hips. Once you have the correct size corset for your waist, it is easy to tension or loosen the bust & hip regions for the perfect fit.

1.Measuring your Waist
You can find your waistline by tipping your torso to one side, when you do this a fold will appear. This is where your waist is, usually just above the belly button.

2. Measuring your Bust
You should measure your bust at the fullest part and not under the bust at the bra line.
If you need to wear a bra when measuring, we recommend a non-padded bra. If you can obtain an accurate measurement without a bra, then this would be ideal.

3. Measuring your Hip
To locate where to measure your hip, lift your leg when standing and feel with your finger where the bone articulates into the pelvis. It is close to the fullest part of your hip and the tape measure should go around the top of your bottom. Do not measure your high hip.

‘Perfect Fit’ Tool
We have created a useful “Perfect Fit” tool so that it is simple and easy to find your recommended size.  To access the tool simply click on "Ensure the perfect fit - size guide" on any product page.

After clicking on the link you will be shown a popup similiar the image below.  Simply enter your measurements in the fields provided to get your recommended size.

Once you have input your measurements on one product, your measurements and size recommendation will be stored and you will be able to browse our website until you have found your perfect corset.  The size will be displayed on each product page.  For example, you will note on the image below, that it has stored your recommended size. Some of our corsets are in dress size and some are in inches, so you may be shown the equivalent dress size in inches too.

The "Perfect Fit" tool also contains the size chart which applies to the product you are currently viewing.  Simply click on "Sizing Information" and then expand the size chart section to view (see example below).  The "Sizing Information" section also includes plenty of other information about corsets so why not take a look?!

our ratings explained

The Waist Reduction rating is the maximum waist reduction achievable of the corset. Just because a corset is rated to a 4 or 5" waist reduction doesn't mean you have to wear them that tightly, you have the choice between comfort & control

The Disguise Rating is how invisible a corset is underneath clothing, relative to the other designs available in our collections

The Comfort Rating is how comfortable your corset will be. Some fabrics are less suited to longer periods of wear and more theatrical designs can become heavy if wearing all day
